Does a video game REALLY need a special "Mountain Dew Gamer Fuel" or a slurpee to go with it? I went to the Halo 3 camp out near here to do a live remote broadcast for my VG Remixed internet radio show. I was shocked to find that there were kids there 14 years old and younger. I'm guessing the youngest ones were around 11. Anyways, when interviewing two at the ages of 13 and 14 and their parents, I was surprised again to find out the dads were willing to let their kids stay home from school today in order to play Halo 3.

(Japan has a law like that for "Dragon Quest"... But that's another story...) Hype is one thing... But this game's got more promotion than even IT could handle... I don't know exactly what to say, but the series is just that damn popular... I like the Halo series... just not THAT much... ----------------------------------------------------------------------

You'd be like "MARIO!!! WOO-HOO! MARIO KICKS A--!!! YEAH I'MMA DRINKIN' MUH MARIO GAME FUEL!!!" And Halo 3 is BARELY rated mature. Not one f-bomb. No nudity or sexual themes. The only reason it is rated "M" is because it has "blood and gore". Gore? No mutilated bodies... So basically it is rated "M" for blood. And it isn't like Gears of War blood where you die in a pool of it and then losing your head from a curb stomp. That is why adults let their children play Halo 3. I'm also shocked that some of you now can come up with reasons to call it overrated without actually playing the game. I beat Halo 2 in the store in 6 hours, disappointing. I have read many reviews on Halo 3 and not yet have I seen anyone take more than 10 hours to beat it, disappointing. All the hype about it seems to be geared to the storyline and multiplayer. Well.. A. I don't ever pay attention to the storyline, because it's boring and it isn't part of playing the game. I have fun PLAYING the game, not treating it like a movie or a book. B. Multiplayer in Halo has always sucked. Overhyped, but big congrats to Bungee for banking on a dull game :P Muh devART Click, you know you want to >.> ~bgyoshi

If you consider Halo having a boring storyline, haved you played any other games? All you do in any Mario game is save Peach. WHERE IS THE STORYLINE?!?! Have you played Legend of Zelda? Link saves hyrule from Ganondorf. WTF?!?! Its disappointing that you play games just to beat them. This is what Bungie (not "Bungee") said about their Halo series. "We want it to be something you like. Not just some game you are trying to beat at 2 o'clock in the morning." Multiplayer sucking? How does it suck? Lots of weapons, vehicles, online capabilities, etc. Have you played Mario games?. No multiplayer usually. In fact lots of games are only one player. Be grateful that Master Chief decided to grace you with his presence on multiplayer. What is disappointing is your lack to realize that Halo is a good game. Nuff said. Let me put all of this into perspective for you diehard nintendo fans. You denying Halo is a good game is like me saying: Smash Bros. or Super Mario Galaxy is gonna suck. What is all the hype for? Smash Bros. multiplayer feature sucks. First of All, Mario used to have cereal AND a line of drinks. Have I ever had either? No, Would I buy either? No. Why? Cause that's kinda pathetic. "OMG! MASTER CHIEF IS ON THIS WHEATIES BOX SO I BUYS DAT!" is the vibe I'm getting from you. As I've been saying, Nintendo doesn't need a new MT Dew or Slurpee in order to sell it's products. Nintendo doesn't need to hold a concert the night a game comes out in order to get people to line up outside stores and move their games. Adults don't let their kids play the game because they think the game is okay, it's because adults these days don't really give a crap. There is a whole rating system for games and stuff but the adults pay it no attention cause they don't care. Sure, some do, but I'm willing to bet 80% of the kids playing Halo have parents that just don't care. You cane asily say a game is over rated without playing, you can easily say a game sucks without ever touching it. Its rather quite easy, experience isn't needed to have an oppinoin. Have you tried pickled cow tongue? Probably not. Would you say it's disgusting, most likely. As for your responces to BG, the way I read tha,t it seems he doesn't pay attention to the story line of ANY game because he doesn't care about storylines cause he wants to paly the dang game, not read text or listen to voice overs. But that's just the way I'm reading it. As for the MArio and Zelda games, sure, you could narrow it down to "Save Peach" or "Save Zelda", and Halo is what? "Save Earth"? "Destroy Aliens"? Is that all? You know what you need to do is stop comparing Halo to Mario. It can't be done. You say Halo has great multiplayer because it has a ton of weapons and vehicles and goes online. Those things don't make multiplayer good. It takes a combination of a lot of things to do so. As for Mario, Lets see what MAJOR games were NOT multiplayer in a way. The US Mario 2, Mario 64, Luigi's Mansion, Sunshine, Perhaps Galaxy? What was multiplayer: Mario Bros, Mario 1, Lost Levels, 3, World, New Super Mario Bros, Party series, and sports series. I think Mario is MORE Multiplayer than single. Now let me ask, who here bought Mario Sunshine for Multiplayer? Anyone? Anyone at all? Just raise your hands. I didn't think so.

Undertakoshi mentioned Halo's multiplayer, but didn't really explain anything. All I'mma saying is that not all games are suited for everyone. I played Super Mario Sunshine once and it was hella boring. Later I happened to find out that it got a 9's or 8's from gaming websites and magazines. I personally gave the game a 3 for sheer boringness while playing, watching, or listening to people talk about it. In conclusion, I believe the majority of you just don't like FPS type games. We all are suited to different games. Most of you just happen to be fans of Nintendo and its few FPS type games on the Wii. D: And I don't really get the hype for most Mario games either. I don't like Mario Party games or that Sunshine game, I tried them in store and they all were just boring. Also it was BG who said that the multiplayer sucks, and that it was just Halo multiplayer in general that it sucked, not that specific game. D: Undertakoshi complimented the fact that it has good weapons and all that. Still I just say it's an overhyped game and when a game is overhyped I lose 100% interest. :D That and I generally hate shooter games. I really wasn't trying to insult your like for the game, and the others didn't seem to try to do that at first either, so you don't have to get so defensive. :o --------------------------------- Coral's Art
