First they ransomed HTML signatures, then HTML code in general, then ad-free boards, then userpics, then userpic resizes...now they've ransomed the number of posts-per-page. I've had my number up at 100 so that each page of a thread corresponded neatly with each hundred posts; kind of a throwback to my dial-up days so I didn't have to wait for page after page to load. Now they've maxed it out to 25, and if I want more than 25, I have to pay them money.
EZBoard wants me, wants us, to pay them money just to get our accounts back to the standards they had five years ago. I don't think it's fair at all to take away features of the board progressively; sure, I could understand the whole Gold Community thing and sure, I could understand limiting HTML code, but limiting the simple courtesy of posts-per-page? That's really unfair. To be completely honest, I really regret making that payment to the board now, because it seems like EZBoard has gone beyond the whole requiring money to survive and is now turning into a cashcow for its greedy owners.
Maybe it was about time the Aurorium shifted to a new messageboard provider?
